Das Sektorvorhaben Numeracy strebt die Integration des Themas Numeracy auf der internationalen Bildungsagenda sowie auf regionaler und nationaler Ebene an.
Im Dezember 2013 standen Reading und Numeracy mit dem All Children Learning Workshop für die MENA-Region in Rabat, Marokko erstmalig in einem synergetischen Ansatz gemeinsam auf der Agenda einer großen internationalen Regionalkonferenz.

The Sector Programme Numeracy is aimed at integrating numeracy into the education agenda internationally, nationally and regionally.
In December 2013, reading and numeracy were linked for the first time in a synergy-based approach in the ‘All Children Learning Workshop’ held at a major MENA regional conference in the Moroccan city of Rabat.

In 2013, the Numeracy Sector programme set up a new working group on mobile education for numeracy (mNumeracy).
The working group facilitates sharing of knowledge and innovations in the use of mobile technologies for promoting mathematics, and offers a platform for disseminating knowledge and experience.

Mit diesen Tests wurden kognitive Fähigkeiten in zwei Domänen erfasst, das Lesen von Fließtexten (prose literacy) und der Umgang mit Zahlen (numeracy).
Das grundlegende Ziel der ALWA-Studie, deren Pilotstudie 2006/07 und deren Hauptfeld 2007/08 durchgeführt wurde, bestand darin, eine Datenbasis für statistische Analysen zu den Zusammenhängen zwischen kognitiven Kompetenzen, Bildungszertifikaten und Erwerbsverläufen in einer Längsschnittperspektive zu schaffen.

These tests focused on measuring cognitive skills in two domains, prose literacy and numeracy.
The major goal of the ALWA study, for which the pilot was conducted in 2006/07 and the main survey in 2007/08, was to provide a database for statistical analyses on the relationships among cognitive competencies, educational credentials, and employment and working lives in longitudinal perspective.
