In addition to providing an insight into fundamental cellular processes, these studies provide valuable information about the conditions required for the production of proteins in biotechnological processes, i.e. for the biosynthesis of antibodies whose molecular basis has been clarified.
After studying biology at the University of Regensburg, Professor Buchner completed his PhD at the same university in 1991.
