Esperanto
Das 1887 vom polnischen Augenarzt Dr. L. L. Zamenhof in einer schmalen Broschüre vorgestellte Projekt Lingvo Internacia - später Esperanto genannt - hat sich im Laufe der Zeit zu einer Vollsprache entwickelt und wird heute von einigen Millionen Menschen beherrscht.
Es gibt über hundert internationale Esperanto-Organisationen, deren größte die Universala Esperanto-Asocio (Esperanto-Weltbund) mit Sitz in Rotterdam ist.
