Zuletzt griffen die Staats- und Regierungschef beim Krisenmanagement in der Schuldenkrise in vielfältiger Weise auf differenzierte Integration zurück, etwa in Form des Euro-Plus-Paktes (23 Staaten), des Fiskalpaktes (25 Staaten) und der Gründung neuer Institutionen für die ‚Euro-17‘.
