Vor dem Hintergrund des IFRS for SMEs untersuchte der Lehrstuhl in 2007 in Kooperation mit Mazars Hemmelrath die Praxis der Rechnungslegung mittelständischer Unternehmen in Deutschland und Frankreich.
In 2009 führte der Lehrstuhl im Auftrag des DRSC eine empirische Studie zur Praxis der Lageberichterstattung durch.
Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung flossen in die Überarbeitung der DRS zur Lageberichterstattung ein.

In 2009, the Chair led an empirical study on the practice of management reporting on behalf of the Germany Accounting Standards Committee (Deutsches Rechnungslegungs Standards Committee e.V. – DRSC).
The results of the study were included in the revision of the DRS on management reporting.

Im Rahmen des Rechnungslegungs Interpretations Committee ( RIC ) des DRSC und des Bundesverbands Öffentlicher Banken ( VÖB ) hat er an der Ausgestaltung der neuen Rechnungslegungsvorschriften rund um HGB sowie IFRS aktiv mitgewirkt.
Außerdem hat er zahlreiche Transformationsprojekte zur Einführung von SAP bzw. zur Umsetzung von IFRS erfolgreich konzipiert und geleitet.

In his position on the Accounting Interpretations Committee ( AIC ) of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany and the Association of German Public Banks ( VÖB ), he played an active role in designing the new financial reporting standards under HGB and IFRS.
